Meet the Maker
Hi and welcome to my corner,
I’m Jastine I started to crochet back in 2014. I taught myself by watching numerous YouTube videos until I finally caught on. I really enjoyed the relaxation that it brought and the creativity that I was able to show through my work. I started off making blankets, baby clothing and booties, to small purses for little girls. I also started to make plushies or better known as amigurumi as well. Within a short few months of creating different items as such, I wanted to create my own pattern and something that could be enjoyed during our cold days in Colorado. This is where my version of a Scoodie (hooded scarf) came together. I created it to my vision that I had, that no others at the time looked like or offered pockets. This really brought out even more creativity for me and wanted me to expand my horizons. Like anyone else I ventured off and started to use different yarns and found what I wanted to offer in being the best quality possible over the years. Fast forward to 2023 to when I finally made it official and started my business. With the help and support of my loving husband, he helped me in creating Lady J’s Crochetions. With my business name in mind, I wanted a character or a mascot to be a part of it. So, yet again I created and designed my ladybug through crochet. But to bring it all full circle and to life, I got some much artistic assistance from a fellow crochet friend to help draw it into an amazing logo for me. A huge thank you to Amanda at Eclectic Scribbles for her artistic work.
I’m still learning along the way especially while I juggle to be a wife, a mom and working a full-time career. I still manage to do my hobby in my free time, so I can offer my creations to others to enjoy and bring smiles to their faces. :)
